Gemstones are generally the pieces of mineral crystal or organic material in cut and polished form. They are used for jewellery and other adornments. Iolite, this name comes from the Greek word ‘ios’ means violet. Iolite gemstone is a violetish blue gemstone. It shows strong pleochroism; showing three distinct colours, violet-yellow-colourless in different directions. Iolite can be a good substitute for the expensive gems like Blue Sapphire & Tanzanite at a much lesser price. It normally has good transparency.

Citrine gemstone is not as rare today as it used to be in ancient times. It has been popular for a thousand years. Ancient Romans used it for beautiful jewellery and intaglio work. It is widely available at affordable prices. Due to its widespread availability, it is used in various types of jewellery.
